When did your interest in craft beer begin?
For Meg, it started very gradually, with an IPA from Boréale at a family party. And for Maryno, she started to really have an interest in craft beer because Meg was only drinking craft beer hahaha! At the beginning of our relationship, Marynoel was only drinking beers like Budweiser but a few months after we met, she couldn’t drink that anymore. And since then, we share the same passion and we absolutely love it!
What are your favorite and least favorite beer styles?
We really like refreshing and funky beers so we love “saison’ type beers and Goses. We always try to find the funkiest ones, the ones with flavors we haven’t seen before. If the beers can make us go : “Wait, whaaat?” Then it’s a yes!!
On the opposite side, we are not big fans of porters, but we still can recognise a good one. We just have a hard time really appreciating it. But sometimes if we find ones with fruits, like blueberries, we can find ourselves surprised to really like it.
Tell us about your favorite instagram account.
We really love the work of @brews.n.brushes. She does craft beer inspired makeup and she is just so good. Every time we see her work, we can’t help but be in awe. She is a super sweet girl from our town and she deserves to be known for her great work!
Tell us about your favorite drinking buddy.
Not to sound cheesy, but we are each other’s best drinking buddy! And it’s a good thing haha! Since we work a lot, we can’t wait to come back home, cuddle and crack open a beer. And we can also party real hard and have the time of our lives together. But one thing : we feel very bad if we open a good beer without the other one haha! It’s our couple’s activity 😉 Luckily, a lot of our friends love craft beer so we have a lot of drinking buddies to share our passion with.
Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself.
- We first met in a shabby motel, probably meant for hookers. And we played Uno.
- Meg proposed to Maryno in a microbrewery. The staff was briefed about it and the proposal was even on their menu. Thing is, Maryno thought it was only a beer with her name on it. Let’s say she was happy when she got it but disappointed she didn’t have a beer just for her.
- Marynoel first saw Meg on Facebook and already thought she was the love of her life.
