How did your interest in craft beer begin?
When I got to college I knew nothing about beer (or drinks, period). I guess you could say that the lack of knowledge made me a bit insecure! So when I studied abroad in France for two years (close to Germany and Belgium), I was determined to learn as much as I could. When I finally got back to the States, I immediately fell in love with all the different varieties the craft beer community brought š
What are your favorite and least favorite beer styles?
I’m a big sucker for pilsners and Vienna lagers… yum! BelgianTriples are great as well. As for the styles I’m not crazy about… I find saisons to be very hit or miss. Pastry stouts are a little too rich for my taste and I’m, surprisingly, not a huge fan of New England IPAs… which is a shame because they’re everywhere!
If you could only drink three beers for the rest of your life what would they be?
Any barrel-aged sour from PFriem… wow!
Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself.
- I lived on a horse ranch in France for three months because I spent all of my flight money to get back home. Always check your bank statements!
- My first job ever was making minimum wage to shuck oysters and crack crab outside during the winter in San Francisco (would not recommend).
- Freediving with sharks is, and has always been, at the top of my bucket list. One day!
