How did your interest in craft beer begin?
In 2011, my wife and I were checking out a local burger joint that was recommended by a co-worker. This place is known for simple burgers and having over 100 craft beer at all times. They also encourage you to keep a list of the beer you drink there and offer you a shirt with your name on it for every 100 different beers you drink. We enjoyed the atmosphere and picking out our beer and soon became a list holder. I give all the credit to that little burger joint.
What are your favorite and least favorite beer styles?
My most favorite styles are IPA’s, goses and stouts. My least favorite would be Belgians and bourbon barrel aged beer (although, I am coming around to a few. Proof that you should continue trying).
If you could only drink three beers for the rest of your life what would they be?
Anything (yes they’re that good in my opinion) from Triple Crossing Brewing, Calusa Brewing Zote, and Martin House Brewing Pickle Beer.
Tell us about one of your favorite craft beer Instagram accounts.
Oh my gosh. There are so many favorites of mine. @strongtexasbeerd is one of my top favorites. Fredy just spreads so much light, love, and PMA on his account daily. He is consistent with his posting, has amazing content, and is still open and real with all of his followers. I truly just heart his face and soul.
Tell us about your favorite drinking buddy.
My wife of course! We entered the craft beer journey together for 9 years. She supports all of my posting shenanigans and never bats an eye at any ISO I put out. We both know we shouldn’t go to the bottle shop or order online because we have plenty at home but then we hurry to get ready, jump in the car, and head to the bottle shop anyways. She’s always ready to make a trip to a favorite brewery at the drop of a hat. She is just so much fun and incredibly funny.
Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself.
- I wanted to be the next Shirley Muldowney of drag racing when I was younger.
- I have been working on my bachelors degree since 2008.
- I work at a brewery.
