How did your interest in craft beer begin?

Well there are two different stories for that. Growing up I would always drink whatever I could get my hands on. Aside from Bud Light or Pabst or any of those macro beers, the first step up was Yeungling, that’s how you would know it was a more sophisticated party lmao! Then the first real craft beer I had was Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and after that I was hooked. I had to get my hand on as many craft beers as possible. Now let’s fast forward to the future to where I’m a brewer. That only stemmed from the fact that I would accompany my then girlfriend and now wife Marilyn on her food dines and would sit there twiddling my thumbs waiting to eat while she was taking pictures and talking to the chefs to find out their stories. One day I decided that while she was focusing on the food, I would focus on the beer. So I then started blogging/taking pictures of craft beer, which then lead me to start freelance writing for Miami New Times & Porch Drinking for craft beer and then that lead me to becoming a brewer!

What are your favorite and least favorite beer styles?

Oof. That’s a tough one. I would have to say that starting in the industry my favorites were IPA and Stouts. Now being in the industry, my favorite style is crispy bois! So much so I named my second dog Crispy Boi. Now not that I hate the style, but if I was at a new brewery trying all their beers, the last style I would pick to try is a fruited Sour Ale.

If you could only drink three beers for the rest of your life what would they be?

  • Bierstadt Slow Pour Pils.
  • 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze
  • Guinness Irish Stout

Tell us about one of your favorite craft beer Instagram accounts.

Probably one of my above all favorites just cause they keep me laughing is @worstbeerblog and I’m sure everyone here knows why. Some runner ups would be @dontdrinkbeers & @wortwrangler.

Tell us about your favorite drinking buddy:

My favorite drinking buddy is my wife Marilyn (@littlemariii). Cheesy I know, but she’s my best friend and partner in crime. Whenever we travel or just drink at home, it’s always a good time. We actually usually plan our travels around different breweries, wineries or distilleries we can visit. It’s always an adventure, it’s always a good time, and memories are always made.

Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself:

  • I have two dead organs in my body.
  • I have run 75 miles in 24 hours.
  • I have never shotgunned a beer in my life.
